Major: Civil Engineering Graduation Year: 2023 Birthday: 05/21/2001 Hometown: Staten Island, NY Hobbies & Interests: I love reading, embroidering, exploring Chicago, watching lots of movie and tv shows, and watching reality tv with my sisters here at ASA! I am also a part of the Food Recovery Network and SEES (Society of Environmental Engineers and Scientists). Big Sister: Estefania Lopez Little Sister(s): None Current ΑΣΑ Position: Vice President of Membership Education ΑΣΑ Position(s) Held: Wellness Chair, JR Greek, Steward |
Why I joined ΑΣΑ: I joined ASA because of how welcoming and comforting the members made me. Moving 700 miles away from the only home I’ve ever known, it was really difficult to try and find my place here at IIT. As soon as I came to ASA, I knew I had found what I desperately needed: A support system. It is really hard to have a social life at IIT but from the beginning, it was so effortlessly easy with ASA.
Why I stayed in ΑΣΑ: I stayed at ASA because of the relationships and opportunities that I had. I know that my sisters would do anything for me and will always be there for me and I think meaningful relationships like that are really hard to find. I’ve been able to find relationships like that with so many sisters and I continue to develop more every day. ASA really has helped me change as a person by gaining a better sense of responsibility, hard work, and just all-around gratefulness for everything that comes with it.
