Alpha Sigma Alpha has four national philanthropies: Special Olympics, Girls On The Run, and the ASA Foundation. Special Olympics is an international organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become productive, physically fit, and respected members of society through sports training and competition. Special Olympics offers children and adults with intellectual disabilities year-round training and competition in 26 Olympic-type summer and winter sports. Girls On The Run (GOTR) is a program that closely matches Alpha Sigma Alpha's core aims by developing physical and spiritual health in girls from 3rd through 8th grade. GOTR fosters girls' self-esteem, body image, and positive eating behaviors and while incorporating running into their summer programs. The ASA Foundation is the newest philanthropic addition. It is dedicated to raising money for scholarship, educational and leadership grants and member advancement for Alpha Sigma Alpha members.
