Why I joined ΑΣΑ: I joined Alpha Sigma Alpha because I missed the sense of community I felt through high school. I was extremely involved in my high school, and when I got to college, I floated through a lot of friend groups having trouble finding people with the same value system as I had. Luckily one of my friends in architecture invited me to a recruitment event and I found that community I had been lacking.
Why I stayed in ΑΣΑ: The friendships I've found in Alpha Sigma Alpha, are so much more than friendships, they are truly sisters to me. I've also experienced so much growth as a person in this sorority, through the friendships and positions I've held. I call Alpha Sigma Alpha home now, and I truly miss it over summer and winter break.
Favorite story about Greek life: I actually went to my first Greek life event before I had joined Alpha Sigma Alpha. I went with a friend to the Greek Formal at the Museum of Science and Industry and had a blast. That event was the first taste of the larger community on the Greek Quad. I also LOVE Greek Week. I am very competitive, and the dance off competition between the houses is SO MUCH FUN! I love seeing what every house puts together!
