Phoenix Class: Fall 2019
Major: Biomedical Engineering (Cell and Tissue Specialization)
Graduation Year: May 2022

Big Sister: Manon Tesche
Little Sister(s):

ASA Positions: Sunshine Chair (Spring 2020)
Favorite Committee: I enjoyed leading sunshine committee!

Interests & Activities: Watercolor painting, playing the kalimba, pyrography, crochet, and playing Minecraft.

Why I Joined: I wanted to be surrounded by a strong female presence. I had made a lot of guy friends at the beginning of college, but not many girls friends. I heard a lot about greek life from my friends that went to different colleges. Some loved it and others said it wasn't their thing. I wanted to give it a shot and see for myself. I thought it would give me the chance to socialize with more people and make more friends. When deciding on the sorority best for me, I noticed the girls in ASA seemed very academically driven, so I thought it would be a great place to have fun and stay motivated to do school work at the same time. I also felt very comfortable at ASA and connected with a few of the girls while rushing.

Why I Stayed: Everyone in ASA is incredibly nice and welcoming. It feels like a second home. In addition, ASA has offered so many opportunities to learn and grow. For example, there are leadership opportunities like running for committee chairs or executive board positions. The recruitment week events and greek week events are so fun to be a part of. There are also so many girls I can turn to if I need help with schoolwork or to just chill with.

Phoenix Class: Spring 2018
Major: Physics (BS) and Health Physics (MAS)

Graduation Year: May 2022

Big Sister: Jennifer Coelho
Little Sister(s): Grace Whitmore <3

ASA Positions: Sports Chair
Favorite Committee: Alumnae Committee- it is very cool to connect with ladies that have been through the chapter, hear how Zeta Phi was in their day, as well as see where they are now. Also, as I've gotten older many of my friends have graduated so it's a great way to stay in contact.

Interests & Activities: Right now my main hobbies are experimentally making coffee and tea using different methods and flavors,  playing Breath of the Wild and Star Wars Battlefront,  drinking hot stuff before it's cool enough, and learning how to ride a motorcycle. Some skills I've gathered over the past 20 years are laser cutting, wood shop and fabrication, embroidery, sustainability, basic land navigation, cooking, tying my shoes without looking, and sketching.

Why I Joined: I visited during spring rush, and I immediately felt a strong and compelling connection to many ladies that I can now call my close friends. I joined for the sisterhood- the strong bond of living as a community of women. At the time, I may not have been the most familiar with the ASA values, but after joining I can see that I fit in so well because our values align, and I love seeing how every  person in our sorority lives these values in her own way.

Why I Stayed: The diverse group of women that compose our chapter. They are ride or die, and I've formed lifelong friendships through ASA. I stay because I've changed and developed over the years, and either it's been ASA that has directly changed me for the better, or they've always accepted who I've become when I've changed from other experiences. I know that I always have a place here, that I always have friends here, and that I'll do whatever I can to support others that belong here too.
